Coexpressed azurin with secretion tag and mVenus reporter under pTetO1

m Venus and azurin fused with pelB-5D secretion tag under the control of a pTet01 inucible promoter for protein expression.

Usage and Biology

Azurin is a blue copper-binding redox protein originally found in the periplasmic membrane of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It has recently been discovered to have an anticancer effect by targeting the well-known p53 apoptosis pathway and by preferentially entering cancerous cells.

This part was assembled in a sponge plasmid working with a repressilator. The aim was to produce azurin in an oscillatory manner and to detect the oscillation better with the mVenus reporter.
